A sign of the times

There was a time not long ago when babies and children were protected by natural immunities developed as they become exposed to the world around them. Now some parents and business owners are so over-protective they don't want little ones exposed to dirt and germs in the real world. Consider this little sign on a baby changing table...

Enough already!

Along the road near Lumberton, NC

Miles out into the country on a winding road near Lumberton, NC, we came upon an intersection with way too many stop signs...

Maybe they just park them here until they are needed elsewhere.

Waste of good signs

Waste of good signs

Why would AT&T waste perfectly good signs in parking spaces at the new store at Cary Town Center in Cary, NC?

It is impossible to conduct any business in an AT&T store in 15 minutes. That is more than the wait time to speak to a representative and then get on the waiting list. Once on the waiting list there is a typical wait of more than 15 minutes to be called to a representatives window. Then at least 15 or more minutes to get anything done!

Need a payphone?

A rare sighting these days, the payphone at the Warsaw rest stop on I-40 East in North Carolina sits waiting for a customer but, sadly, no one stops to use it...

Read too much... get run over...

Read all the signs at your own risk...

Town Planners and CSX Railroad recently built this $207,000 pedestrian crossing near downtown Apex. When it came time to decide on signs to post at the crossing the planners went into overload.

Nevermind that the crossing goes nowhere and is the Town's own "bridge to nowhere". After spending all that money, the east side of the crossing ends abruptly beside the tracks and there is no way to go anywhere else. The intent was to make this part of a path to Historic Downtown Apex but work was not done to actually make the path connect to the Town office complex. So for now, you can stand by the tracks and watch the trains go by...

Got signs?

Find your way through the maze of signs at this Historic Downtown District drugstore in Apex.

There are at least 12 signs on this new drugstore. Even more if you count the signs on the delivery vehicle covered with signs.

Horses and tater chips

Its true!

If you get a horse you will probably end up with several.

Dismount !

The Railroad speaks... dismount before entering here.

Signs of discontent

Mayor Weatherly's little band of "yes men" have been getting the heat lately. Lots of folks have discovered several Apex Town Council members go along with whatever Weatherly wants when voting at Town Council meetings.

Take time to sit in on Town Council meetings and make your voice known. Help the Council know which way to vote.
